Project Snapshot
Key takeaway
This project gave me experience working with a real client and translating multiple small business needs into a single cohesive website. One of the biggest takeaways was learning how to design a site that clearly communicates multiple services while still keeping the user journey simple and focused on generating leads. The site currently helps generate consistent client inquiries and has increased leads by roughly 30%.

This project focuses primarily on building a clear service-based website that helps a small business owner promote multiple services while driving new customer inquiries.
Key Features
• Multi-service website for hair braiding, nail services, and event planning
• Clear service sections with dedicated call-to-action buttons
• Lead generation forms using WPForms
• Mobile-friendly responsive layout
• Testimonial carousel to build customer trust
• Instagram integration for social proof and visual content
Overview
BitaRosa.com is a service-based website built for a real client who operates three businesses: hair braiding, nail services, and event planning. The goal of the project was to create a simple but polished website that could clearly communicate the services offered while making it easy for potential customers to inquire or book.
The site acts as a central online presence for the business and supports lead generation by directing visitors toward contact forms and social media.
Problem
The client previously relied heavily on word-of-mouth and social media to find new customers. Without a dedicated website, potential clients had limited information about services, pricing, or how to contact the business.
Additionally, since the client offers multiple services, it was important to organize the information in a way that clearly separates each offering without making the site confusing.
Solution
I built a WordPress-based website using the Astra theme and Gutenberg editor to create a lightweight, flexible layout that highlights each service category.
The site was designed with a clear structure so users can quickly understand the different services offered and easily contact the business through lead forms or social media.
What I built
Key elements of the site include:
• Dedicated service sections for hair braiding, nail services, and event
planning
• Landing page layout optimized for clear service discovery
• WPForms integration to capture customer inquiries
• Testimonial section to build credibility and trust
• Instagram integration to showcase recent work and visual portfolio
• Mobile-responsive layout for users browsing from phones
I also manage the website on an ongoing basis, handling updates, small design improvements, and monitoring performance.
Technical Challenges
One challenge during development was an issue with the testimonial carousel not displaying correctly on the live site due to caching conflicts. After investigating the issue, I resolved it by adjusting the caching configuration so the dynamic content would render properly.
This experience helped reinforce how caching can affect dynamic components in WordPress environments.
Results
Since launching the site, the business has seen an estimated 30% increase in new customer inquiries, largely due to the improved visibility and easier contact process provided by the website.
The site now serves as a central hub where potential customers can quickly understand the services offered and reach out directly.
Lessons learned
Working with a real client helped me better understand how important clear communication and simple user flows are for service-based websites. Rather than focusing purely on technical complexity, the project emphasized designing an experience that makes it easy for users to find information and contact the business.
It also gave me more hands-on experience managing a production website, handling small issues like caching conflicts, and maintaining the site after launch.
